A small, engaged email list is worth more than a large, silent social following. Here is how to start one in two weeks.
Days 1 to 3: Create one useful freebie
Make something that solves one small problem in under ten minutes: a checklist, a template or a mini lesson. Name the result in the title, for example The 10-minute weekly planner.
Days 4 to 5: Set up a simple sign-up page
One headline, three bullets, one email field and one button. Remove the menu so there is nothing else to click.
Days 6 to 10: Share it where your people are
Tell your story once, then share the freebie every day in a different way: a short video, a carousel, a story, a direct message to a friend who would use it. Ask five people personally to try it and tell you what they think.
Days 11 to 12: Write your welcome email
Say hello, deliver the freebie, tell them who you are in three sentences and ask a question they can reply to.
Days 13 to 14: Review
Look at where subscribers came from and double down on the best source. Thank everyone who signed up.
Keep the list healthy
Send one helpful email a week. Be specific. Make unsubscribing easy. A list of 100 people who open your emails is a real asset.
